Plagiarism Screening

Plagiarism Policy

Al-Kasyaf: Jurnal Studi Al-Qur’an dan Hadis (published by the Rumah Jurnal Sekolah Tinggi Agama Islam An-Nur Banyumas) upholds the highest standards of academic integrity. Plagiarism is considered a serious ethical breach. To maintain originality and authenticity, all submitted manuscripts are screened using Turnitin before the peer-review process begins.

Plagiarism refers to presenting someone else’s work, ideas, or words as one’s own without proper acknowledgment. Authors must ensure that all borrowed materials are clearly cited and appropriately referenced. Plagiarism constitutes academic fraud and may result in manuscript rejection, retraction, or disciplinary measures.

The journal recognizes plagiarism in any of the following circumstances:

  • Regardless of the original source from which the material was copied.
  • Whether or not the copied author had also taken it from another source.
  • Whether or not the copied author’s name is known.
  • Regardless of the medium of the copied work (journals, books, websites, theses, etc.).
  • Even if permission was granted to reuse the content.
  • Including cases of self-plagiarism (reusing significant parts of one’s own previously published work).

If plagiarism is detected, the Editorial Board will review the case carefully and determine an appropriate course of action depending on the severity of the violation, as outlined below.

Minor Plagiarism

Refers to small portions or short phrases copied from another source without proper citation, yet without significant intellectual content or data being misappropriated.

Sanction: A formal warning will be issued, and the author will be asked to revise and resubmit the manuscript with proper attribution.

Intermediate Plagiarism

Involves the unacknowledged reproduction of a full sentence, paragraph, or section of data and ideas from another work.

Sanction: The manuscript will be immediately rejected from further editorial consideration.

Severe Plagiarism

Refers to deliberate and substantial copying of original findings, theoretical concepts, or methodological frameworks from previously published sources without permission or acknowledgment.

Sanction: The manuscript will be rejected, and all involved authors will be permanently prohibited from submitting to Al-Kasyaf: Jurnal Studi Al-Qur’an dan Hadis.

Editorial Note: The Editor-in-Chief reserves the right to retract any published article if clear evidence of plagiarism, data fabrication, or unethical conduct is discovered after publication.
