Al-Ahla: Jurnal Ilmu Hukum dan Hukum Keluarga Islam upholds strict policies against plagiarism and publication misconduct. To maintain academic integrity, every manuscript submitted to the journal is subject to a comprehensive plagiarism screening process before entering the peer review stage.

1. Plagiarism Detection Tool

• All manuscripts submitted to Al-Ahla are screened using Turnitin — a leading plagiarism detection software recognized by academic institutions worldwide.
• The similarity report generated by Turnitin is carefully reviewed by the editorial team to assess the originality of the submitted manuscript.
• Only manuscripts with acceptable similarity levels proceed to the peer review process.

2. Acceptable Similarity Threshold

• The acceptable similarity index for submitted manuscripts is below 20% (excluding references, quotations, and methodological phrases).
• Manuscripts exceeding this threshold will be returned to the author(s) for revision or immediate rejection, depending on the severity of overlap.
• Repeated patterns of plagiarism or uncredited paraphrasing may result in a permanent ban of the author(s) from future submission.

3. Forms of Plagiarism Considered Unethical

• Direct Plagiarism: Copying text verbatim from another source without proper citation or quotation marks.
• Self-Plagiarism: Republishing or reusing significant parts of one’s previously published work without acknowledgment.
• Mosaic Plagiarism: Mixing copied phrases or ideas from multiple sources to create a patchwork without attribution.
• Improper Paraphrasing: Rewording another’s ideas too closely without appropriate credit.
• Source-based Plagiarism: Fabricating or misrepresenting sources, citations, or bibliographic information.

4. Editorial Actions and Sanctions

• If plagiarism is detected before publication, the manuscript will be rejected immediately and the author(s) notified with the Turnitin report.
• If plagiarism is found after publication, the article will be officially retracted from the journal website, and a retraction notice will be published.
• The journal reserves the right to report plagiarism cases to the author’s institution or research funder.
