Al-Khadim: Jurnal Penelitian dan Pengabdian Masyarakat is an academic publication issued by the Research and Community Service Institute (LPPM) of Sekolah Tinggi Agama Islam An-Nur Banyumas (STINBA). The journal serves as a scholarly platform for disseminating the outcomes of research and community service that exemplify the integration of scientific inquiry and social participation.

Al-Khadim emphasizes studies and initiatives that foster empowerment, education, social transformation, and sustainable development grounded in Islamic ethical and cultural values. It aims to cultivate collaboration among scholars, practitioners, and communities in generating innovative and impactful works that contribute to human welfare, intellectual advancement, and the realization of research-based community engagement.

Scope

The journal welcomes original research articles, community service reports, practice-based reflections, program evaluations, and review papers that address, but are not limited to, the following areas:

  • Community Empowerment & Social Innovation: participatory development, capacity building, inclusive services, and local leadership.
  • Education & Literacy: service-learning, teacher training, early childhood and youth programs, curriculum co-design with communities.
  • Public Health & Well-Being: promotive–preventive programs, maternal–child health, mental health, sanitation, and nutrition.
  • Economic Empowerment: micro-entrepreneurship, vocational upskilling, Islamic social finance (zakat, waqf, infaq), financial inclusion.
  • Environment & Sustainability: climate adaptation, waste management, conservation, green pesantren/campus initiatives.
  • Civic Engagement & Governance: policy advocacy, legal awareness, rights-based approaches, disaster risk reduction and resilience.
  • Culture, Religion, and Social Cohesion: Islamic values in social change, interfaith collaboration, heritage and local wisdom.
  • Digital Transformation: digital inclusion, community informatics, EdTech, media literacy, and e-governance initiatives.
  • Gender & Social Justice: women’s empowerment, child protection, disability inclusion, and equity-based development.
  • Rural–Urban Dynamics: migration, food security, local tourism, and sustainable livelihood programs.

Research and Engagement Approaches may include:

  • Participatory Action Research (PAR) and Community-Based Participatory Research (CBPR)
  • Service-learning and engaged scholarship models
  • Design thinking and innovation for social impact

Aim: Al-Khadim: Jurnal Penelitian dan Pengabdian Masyarakat seeks to advance the synergy between research and community service through the lens of Islamic ethics and social responsibility.
