Author Guidelines — Al-Khadim: Jurnal Penelitian dan Pengabdian Masyarakat

Authors are invited to submit scholarly articles that report original research findings or community engagement outcomes aligned with the journal’s focus and scope. Manuscripts should demonstrate methodological rigor, ethical integrity, and practical or theoretical contribution to the fields of research and community service.

1. Manuscript Preparation

  • Manuscripts must be written in English or Bahasa Indonesia in a clear academic style.
  • Manuscripts should be prepared using Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx) on A4 paper (21 cm × 29.7 cm).
  • Use Times New Roman, 12 pt font, 1.5 line spacing, and margins of 2.5 cm on all sides.
  • The manuscript length should range from 4,000 to 8,000 words, including tables, figures, and references.
  • Each page should be numbered consecutively at the bottom right corner.

2. Manuscript Structure

  • Title: Concise and informative, written in sentence case (maximum 14 words).
  • Author(s) and Affiliation(s): Include full names, institutional affiliations, and active email addresses of all authors.
  • Abstract: Written in both English and Bahasa Indonesia, 150–250 words, summarizing objectives, methods, results, and impacts of the research or community service.
  • Keywords: 3–5 words or phrases reflecting key concepts.
  • Introduction: Describe background, problem statement, objectives, and relevance of the study or program.
  • Methods: Explain the research or service design, target participants, implementation steps, and evaluation techniques.
  • Results and Discussion: Present findings supported by data, analysis, and discussion connecting results to theory or practice.
  • Conclusion: Summarize main findings, implications, and recommendations for future research or practice.
  • Acknowledgment: Optional, for recognizing contributors, institutions, or funding sources.
  • References: Must follow APA (7th Edition) style, listing only works cited in the text.

3. Citation and Reference Style

  • In-text citations should follow the author–date format (e.g., Rahman, 2023; Sari & Yusuf, 2022).
  • All cited works must appear in the reference list, formatted according to the APA 7th Edition guidelines.
  • Authors are encouraged to use citation tools such as Mendeley, EndNote, or Zotero to maintain accuracy.
  • Example:
    Rahman, M. (2023). Community Empowerment through Faith-Based Social Innovation. Journal of Social Transformation, 8(2), 120–134. https://doi.org/10.xxxxxx

4. Submission Process

  • All manuscripts must be submitted through the Open Journal System (OJS) at the Al-Khadim official website.
  • Authors must ensure their manuscripts are free of grammatical and typographical errors prior to submission.
  • Each submission will undergo an initial editorial screening and plagiarism check using Turnitin.
  • Manuscripts with a similarity index exceeding 20% may be returned for revision or rejected.

5. Ethical Compliance

Authors must comply with the Publication Ethics of Al-Khadim, ensuring originality, honesty, and responsible research conduct. Any detected plagiarism, data fabrication, or unethical practice will result in immediate rejection or article retraction.

6. Article Processing Fee

  • Submission: Free of charge (no submission fee).
  • Publication: IDR 500,000 is charged upon acceptance to cover processing, layout, and open-access dissemination.
